At first, I thought this girl was a hoax. The first part of the video sounds like she's just lipping. But you'll easily find out she isn't. Don't bash her pronunciation as she is NOT American. Just say critique the voice and say it slowly: she's a-m-a-z-i-n-g!
I've always wanted to launch another blog where I can share my experiences in making money online. Well, Pika Bucks has gone LIVE! I have yet to finish my posts. Yey! I'm going back to studying Spanish at Instituto Cervantes this July and I am so freaking excited! I miss my profesores. I miss the school. I really hope I can brush up on my Spanish really soon. I have a lot to learn. As a treat, here's Jojo's Spanish version of her hit song Too Little Too Late. I still can't believe she was the first actress who was offered the role of Hannah Montana. She declined saying it was just not the path she wanted to take. I cannot say it's the best decision she ever made. We all know how big Hannah Montana is nowadays, despite those Vanity Fair photos.
Here's a preview of the third Filipino [language] film to make it to the Cannes Film Festival. All I can say is, I'm definitely watching this movie. I've seen Brilliante Mendoza's films and I like them all. At least, for a change, the protagonist isn't a male prostitute. Did you notice that most of the recognized Filipino films are sex-themed?

It is also two times more energy efficient than a gas-electric hybrid and three times that of a standard gasoline-powered car, the company says."

I watched The Incredible Hulk yesterday. I've seen the first film where they had a different set of actors. I was very impressed with the first movie's special effects so I figured they would have a lot of improvements for this sequel. I was right. The Hulk definitely looks better, unlike the one on the first movie which doesn't adapt with natural light (and makes him obviously CGI).
The story starts with his self-exile in Brazil like what was shown on the first movie. He was being hunted by the US government in order to fully understand his capabilities as the Hulk and make it as a military weapon - a super soldier.
Earlier last week, there were reports that Edward Norton was not doing his part in promoting his film. According to SuperHeroHype.com this was largely because of the fact that he wasn't given proper writing credits for the film. It is said that Norton wrote the part where he finds the serum in the Amazon, exchanging emails with Tim Blake Nelson and a few other parts.
When it came to the final edit, some good 20 minutes of what Norton has written ended up in the cutting room while 50 minutes will be featured on its soon-to-be-released DVD. When presented to the Writers' Guild, full credits were given to Zak Penn, who argued that his original screenplay wasn't fully modified by Norton.
MY TAKE ON THE FILM: I do remember being entertained by the first Hulk movie. There were a few hits and misses on this one. The first few scenes were very dragging. I remember looking at the time as much as Bruce Banner checks his heart rate through his watch. It only started to be interesting when the original Hulk did a cameo as the security guard and when Stan Lee did his usual cameo. This was probably his longest one to date.
I thought the end part was done in a jiffy. First, the transformation of the Abomination looked a bit forced. It needed more character development which was not seen in this movie. The best parts are when Norton fell out of the helocopter, not knowing if he's morph into the Hulk or not; and the scene at the motel where he and Betty Ross were about to have sex but his heart rate changed so they stopped.
And oh, I got very excited when the Hulk did his signature move: the Thunder clap which I always use when playing Marvel Vs. Capcom.
I didn't quite like the ending. He didn't really kill the Abomination. So what happens to the monster? It just grew weak because of their fight. It didn't even morph back to Blonsky.

I'm always curious when magazines do this. Do they disclose the number of magazines sold per star? I want to know if Carrie is still selling nowadays. As I've said earlier, I wasn't 'carried away' by the movie. I haven't seen it again so I have yet to decide whether my first blog entry is indeed valid or not. The movie was not as funny and witty as I hoped it would be, though it remained faithful to the series' theme and fashion sense.

I've seen the Al Gore and George W. Bush video featuring the then presidential candidates singing Endless Love. Now folks, hands down, this has to be the most hilarious video of Bush, this time with Putin. It features the two leaders dancing in what appears as a Vegas stage, complete with all the Vegas entourage.

I've been a fan of this kid since he starred on Constantine. He's been on Indiana Jones and soon on Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

The Transformers sequel is generating a lot of buzz lately. The movie, which is now officially known as Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen is set to be released in 2009. The sequel will start with Starscream going back to the Decepticons' base to regroup and launch a new attack. (The first movie ends with Starscream escaping from Earth.)
Meanwhile, the Autobots will soon discover that Megatron's body would be stolen by Skorpinox. The surviving decepticon will revive his master using his own spark. With Megatron alive, and Starscream backed with more decepticons, we can only expect a bigger and better battle of the transformers.
Rumor has it that they are trying to bring in 20 robots for this movie. That's 10 Autobots and 10 Decepticons. Also, the fallen Jazz MIGHT be returning. How? All we can do is wait for now. Here's one of the robots which was supposed to be used in the first movie. Arcee is a female transformer who transforms into a motorcycle.
And there will be more! Rumors of an Ice Cream truck autobot are circulating. I cannot wait for the next movie to come out!

Having Kris Aquino as her co-host is awesome. I'm proud that our local version had its 15 minutes of fame in the US.
The best parts: I love Howie's reaction when the 26K was introduced. He also did the Kris' way of saying 'Deal or No Deal' and he did it pretty well.

Oh I miss my Motorola V3X! It's the only phone I had with 3G capability. And now, here comes the Apple iPhone 3G. While I have not personally experienced the first generation iPhone, I think it's cute but very much overrated. I wonder how this one would be accepted by the consumers. As expected, we got 3G, GPS, and lower prices. But some of the most exciting iPhone rumors—such as videoconferencing and additional iPhone models—failed to materialize. Also: Details on rate plans, contracts, and battery life.
First of all, let's talk turkey—specifically, the $299 price tag for the 16GB model and $199 for the 8GB version. Now, in a moment, you're going to find me grousing about what's missing in the new iPhone, but from the feedback I'm getting so far, people are thrilled about the lower prices. While $199 isn't exactly cheap for a phone, it's a bargain when you consider the features packed into the iPhone 3G. Expect lines around the block when it goes on sale July 11.
That said, AT&T just announced that the data plan for the iPhone 3G will run you $30 a month, a $10 premium over the original's EDGE-only plan, so keep that in mind while you're calculating your savings. And yes, you'll need to sign a new two-year contract with AT&T, even if you're a current subscriber.
Anyway, the iPhone looks pretty much like the iPhone of old—and while Jobs crowed that the new iPhone is thinner "at the edges" than the original, the iPhone 3G is, in fact, about 0.02 inches thicker than its predecessor. That said, according to the specs, the new iPhone is about 0.1 ounce lighter than the EDGE-only model.
About the glossy black (or white) backing … I'm not thrilled about it. The beauty of the old brushed-metal finish was that it was practically impervious to scratches—indeed, my old iPhone, which I bought last June and lives sans case in my pocket, has nary a scratch on the back. We'll have to wait and see how the new glossy backing holds up, but I'm not optimistic.

I managed to dig into some of the YouTube videos and find my very, very first favorite band here in the Philippines: SMOKEY MOUNTAIN! The group had three batches (make that 4 if you consider Kaya to be an extension of SM). I remember collecting all of their cassette tapes when I was a kid. I sang their songs in a lot of parties and school gatherings. My uber favorite is Paraiso, a song that was awarded in an international competition. Here's the clip:
She's touted to be next Oprah and Martha Stewart. Really? Maybe. She's a smart girl mate. She turned her previous career, her education and passion into something profitable, something we now know as her Bankable Productions, the production outfit that produced her popular shows like America's Next Top Model, The Tyra Banks Show, and the soon-to-be-released reality show Stylista.
This video was taken while being interviewed for her cover story on The New York Times. Props for Tyra on this one. She never fails to amaze me when she tries so hard to convince me that there actually are 275 possible smiles one can make.
My favorite American Idol single is 'I believe'. I thought it was so brilliant when Fantasia sang it. It was written for her. Well, the encore performance of Diana DeGarmo was also good but Fantasia definitely nailed it that night. I've been watching both performances lately and noticed that they both have some weaknesses when they sang the song. For one, I don't get the husky sound coming from Fantasia's voice. It's like Macy Gray singing on AI. As for Diana DeGarmo, her voice was a bit forced and it didn't sound right.

I saw Kung Fu Panda yesterday and I liked it sooooo much! I think it'll be one of the best summer movies this year. Jack Black's voice fits the Panda character well. I swear I was laughing all the way til the end. This is my ideal animated movie. Some get caught up in the animation and effects with the storyline suffering, leaving the audience unimpressed with the entire movie. Kung Fu Panda does have a great story and super cool animation too.

This is pretty interesting! Archaelogists found the missing pyramid in Egypt. It was first discovered in the 1800s but was apparently covered by thick desert sand which kid it for centuries. Today, only the bottom part of the pyramid is visible but who knows what's underneath? Treasure? Mummies? Exciting! I will monitor this story and post videos soon.

Carrie is still annoying. Big is still Big. I'm pretty happy with the actors' performances. Charlotte is still funny without even trying. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull: Fun and entertaining...
When I watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull, I thought of Jessica Zafra's post about the movie. She has a point. Harrison Ford is old and we don't expect him to have the same energy he had when he last played the role. I watched it for two reasons: Cate Blanchett and Shia LaBeouf are both in it and the trailer looks like it's going to be a fun ride.
And yes, it was a lot of fun! I have to say, some parts were kind of boring. The Indy rip-off, National Treasure was better at keeping the moviegoers excited in every scene. A few things I loved:
1. Harrison does not try too hard with his action scenes. It does portray him as an aging adventurer.
2. As usual, Cate Blanchett delivers. I admire her for doing well in using the accents required in her movies. She did well as an Irish reporter in Veronica Guerin. In Indy4, she plays a Russian and speak Russian too.
3. Clearly, the Indiana Jones franchise is still alive. And I'm glad that they chose Shia LaBeouf to be the next Indy.
And yes, it was a lot of fun! I have to say, some parts were kind of boring. The Indy rip-off, National Treasure was better at keeping the moviegoers excited in every scene. A few things I loved:
1. Harrison does not try too hard with his action scenes. It does portray him as an aging adventurer.
2. As usual, Cate Blanchett delivers. I admire her for doing well in using the accents required in her movies. She did well as an Irish reporter in Veronica Guerin. In Indy4, she plays a Russian and speak Russian too.
3. Clearly, the Indiana Jones franchise is still alive. And I'm glad that they chose Shia LaBeouf to be the next Indy.
Well, it's not exactly TOO old. I was looking for new videos of David Archuleta's performances/guestings and came across this old video, probably shot by his father, which shows a much younger Archuleta playing the piano and singing one of my favorite songs, A Thousand Miles. Way to go Archi!

Yep, you heard it right. I just downloaded some of his songs. You can't deny it. David Archuleta is really talented. I know David Cook deserves to win but the younger David also needs to be recognized. Here are some of my favorite performances from Archi.
Thanks to Perez Hilton, I got hold of this list of the upcoming sequels that the Hollywood movie outfits are currently working on. Some of them are really interesting and I cannot wait to watch. Some are, well, let's just say I don't understand what's making them lengthen the movie franchise to the tenth movie. I've listed some of the ones I love and hate.
The Brazilian Job (2009) Jason Statham, Charlize Theron and Mark Wahlberg will return to the sequel of the Hollywood remake of The Italian Job. I don't remember the story of the original movie but I do remember the car chase featuring the small Mini Cooper cars.
I am Legend 2 (2010) Eww... Dunno why they're making another one. This movie barely gave me the chills! I hate that Will Smith did this crappy movie about humanity's end caused by a deadly virus which turns people into vampire-like savages. I don't get it. I don't.
Transporter 3 (TBA) Yey! Jason Statham will be back as the Transporter! I love the first two movies. People hate action movies like this because the stunts are crazy-impossible but I love both films. I think Jason Statham is awesome!
Silent Hill 2 (2010) I don't know why people don't like the movie. I think it's one of the scariest movies of all time. Plus there's some philosophical touch added to the story which made it more interesting.
Pink Panther (2009) Oh my! Another Pink Panther movie?? The Beyonce movie didn't even make a lot of money, right? Let's just hope they'll come up with funnier jokes this time.

With Charlie Green eliminated, all eyes are on Madonna Decena. Her previous performance was very moving (heck, I was also in tears after watching it!) Here's her most recent performance at Britain's Got Talent. I'm not so sure about her vocal performance. I thought her voice was a bit shaky and she went flat on some parts.
I want to know who's decision it was to post the picture of her two girls while she was singing. I mean, that part of her story in this competition should be over now. She should be focusing on how she could win this thing and how she could improve her performances. Sadly, this one is turning into Britain's version of Wowowee.
You sometimes cannot argue with Simon Cowell. He's very honest and admit it, most of the time he tells the truth! While Madonna's performance was not any better than her previous one, I still hope she'll be given another chance. If not, I hope she gets more jobs in the UK like what she said she wanted to get out of this competition.

Yesterday, I downloaded the old Fox special on the moon landing. Remember that special shown on Studio 23 where some experts said NASA faked the whole moon landing in 1960's. I will watch it again and start discussing it here.
Meanwhile, I learned that there's a new space mission just recently. Shuttle Discovery just blasted into orbit from Cape Canaveral, FL, carrying a crew of 7, some lab additions to the space station, and an unlikely tool for space exploration: a toilet pump.
The space mission will be completed in two days. Once they arrive at the international space station, they are expected to install the $1 billion lab, as big as a school bus.

Thanks Mac for the tip. It's sad that Charlie Green was eliminated. He took a risk and sang an original song written to him by his dad's friend. From the first note, you'd already know it's a disaster. I think the song was loosely based on his previous performance of Summer Wind. I totally agree with the judges, he shouldn't be singing songs like that one! Sad, his elimination in than expected.
