Movies I am excited about in 2014

Friday, January 03, 2014

2013 was a great year in movies. Two of my favorites are 'Before Midnight' and 'Pacific Rim'. I am expecting a lot from film producers this year. We'll see a lot of print-to-film adaptations, reimagined classics and a few tireless franchises. Sit back, relax and enjoy the movie.

Paranormal Activity 5 (October 24) - Do we need another one? Probably not. But it will be nice to see how they stretched the story this far.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (May 2) - I read somewhere that we won't be seeing Spider-man join The Avengers anytime soon. Sony holds the movie rights for all Spider-man films while Marvel has the rights to all Avengers-related franchises. Anyway, we won't be short of spider webs this year. The sequel to the franchise reboot looks very, very good.

The Fault in our Stars (June 6) - This is a touching story of two cancer patients who falls in love with each other. Based of John Green's best-selling novel, this movie is expected to bring on the tears. Don't forget to bring your tissue guys.

Gone Girl (Oct 3) - The best-selling novel 'Gone Girl' arrives in theatres with Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. I haven't read the book but it's supposed to be really good.

Captain America: Winter Soldier (April 4) - The first movie was a little bit disappointing. This one's got the Black Widow (and I'm guessing it will have another Avengers cameo).

22 Jump Street (June 13) -  (Photo by JustJared) 21 Jump Street is one of the best comedy films I've seen. Channing Tatum is just good at acting really dumb.

Divergent (March 21) - The first part of Veronica Roth's trilogy novel is one of the most anticipated films this year. It could be as big as the Hunger Games series. Plus, Maggie Q is in it.

Interstellar (Nov 7) - It's from Christopher Nolan. Go see it.

Maleficent (May30) - A villain in her own movie? And it's Angelina Jolie?!

Rio 2 (April 11) - After hours of playing Angry Birds Rio, you wouldn't want to miss this.

Robocop (Feb 12) - I was a big fan of all the Robocop films. I was happy when they announced the reboot and was pleasantly surprised with the sexier, meaner black armor.

X-Men: Days of Future Past (May 23) - I have been waiting for a long time to see the Sentinels come to life. This will definitely be the best X-Men movie ever. Please, Bryan Singer, do not disappoint us.
