Spartacus: War of the Damned recap

Sunday, March 24, 2013

This week's episode of Spartacus was pretty eventful.

* The rebels have parted ways, one led by Spartacus (Liam Mcintyre) and the other by Crixus (Manu Benett).

* Tiberius finally takes control of his fate... and rapes Caesar in the process.

* Spartacus FINALLY gets laid again (after almost an entire season)

* Crixus and Agron both dies in battle. Naeva's fate is probably the same.

I was so impressed with how the beheading scene was done. 'Spartacus' is the only show (with too much blood) I watch these days. This scene was not only tastefully done, it had so much drama that could win an Emmy (IMHO). Do you agree?

In a recent interview with TV Guide, Manu Benett remembers Andy Whitfield, (the original actor who played Spartacus in the first season) who died of Hodgkins Lymphoma. Mcintyre took over the role for season 2.

"We had a lovely moment [in my final episode] where I said to Spartacus, 'I once said we could have been as brothers,'" Bennett says. "It was a homage to a similar moment I also had in the first season with Andy Whitfield. So that was a very poignant moment for me in terms of going full circle with this television show."

Benett is also promoting the kickstarter campaign to fund the film 'Be Here Now' which is a documentary about Whitfield's battle against lymphoma. You can help by clicking here
