G.I. Joe: Retaliation - Save this Franchise
Friday, March 22, 2013I enjoyed watching G.I. Joe when I was a kid. I was sorely disappointed when I saw the movie adaptation (starring Channing Tatum) a few years ago. They made it so modern that it had absolutely nothing to do with the original GI Joe (except for the names of some of the characters).
The sequel will be released this year and there are already some problems. First, they decided to kill Duke (Channing Tatum) and it didn't sit well with the test audience! They had to rewrite and reshoot! And you're probably wondering if King Cobra will be back for another round. After all, the first movie was called the 'Rise of Cobra'. A new photo on SuperHeroHype confirms that the main antagonist will be back but will not be played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Luke Bracey was hired to play the role.
Here's to hoping these changes were enough to salvage this franchise.
