iPhone 5 confirmed! What changed?

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Finally, the last project that Steve Jobs worked on is here. The iPhone 5 packs an A6 chipset, iOS 6, new 4-inch screen with stunning Retina display. The biggest change (IMO) is the larger screen because Jobs was quoted in the past saying people do not prefer large phones. With the success of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy phones, I think it just makes sense that some people actually care about the screen size.

Other changes worth mentioning are:

- Dual band wi-fi connectivity
- improved 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera (vs IP4S' VGA camera)
- Facetime over Cellular
- LTE compatible

A few other changes include the smaller connector called Lightning. They also updated the headphones with a more appealing set called EarPods.

The only thing I didn't like? The Nano-Sim. That means you need to request for a new sim from your provider if you want to buy the new iPhone and use your existing plan.
