Wanna be happy? Eat THESE!
Sunday, March 06, 2011There's a never-ending quest for happiness! While we may not find the ultimate panacea, this list of 'happy' foods may provide temporary relief:
Vitamin B6 - present in bananas, chicken breast, garlic, Brussels sprouts, collard greens, sunflower seeds, broccoli, red bell peppers, watermelon, avocados, and potatoes
B6 plays a role in metabolism and the synthesis of neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine. These things tell your brain to be happy. So when you feel depressed, try grabbing sunflower seeds or bananas.
Fish
Studies indicate that intake of Omega 3 fatty acids can help alleviate depression. It promotes healthy brain function and has helped battle depression among bipolar patients.
