I've been burning money on movies lately. I don't have time to do full reviews (not that I'm an expert in films) but here are my thoughts on the movies I've seen lately:

Boy, what is going on? I am so freaking excited because I get to travel to different spots in the Philippines in the next few weeks.

Boracay: 27-29 February
Camarines Sur: 1-15 March
Davao: TBD

EDIT: I'm taking it back. I think I forgot the fact that I will be enjoying the Bora sand for work and not just purely for leisure. While the trip will be given for free, I still have my laptop and now put on a different hat for this one. Oh how I've waited months for this! Not the bora trip - but the opportunity to write once again. I think my last piece that came out was last year. I haven't really had the time to get more work because writing is more of a sideline since I still have my regular job in the jungle.

I ditched my supposed fist Baguio trip for the Bora assignment. WORTH IT IF YOU ASK ME!

I guess my only worry (ongoing since the first time I went to Bora) is what to wear to the events I've been invited to. I need to get a good pair of board shorts and some decent flip flops or I'll look like some kanto boy along with the other editors of the other broadsheets.

Yes, some of them are editors of their papers. I'm thrilled to travel with them but at the same time I'm scared. I hope I don't end up being a fish out of water like the jeans presscon I attended a few years ago. I ended up talking to the photographers because I didn't know any of the other writers.

What's worse is that the PR guy who welcomed me with the question: 'Where's **** ***?', referring to the popular writer [and sort of celebrity]. Poof!

Don't you just LURVE Alicia Keys? This girls got the voice and I've never seen her lipsynch.. which is GREAT! I'm going crazy over her new album. My favorite is Lesson Learned which says I've been burned but I call it a Lesson Learned.

Oh boy. Here we go again.
Had dinner today with the AVP and the SPM.
Since we're on bench for a week,
they were freely advertising openings
in Camarines Sur and Davao.
Nice.
This means there are no openings yet
here in Manila,
which makes it hard for my
boss to find us new homes after
our contract with the client has expired.
He seemed to have done a pretty good job selling Davao to me.
I was almost sold on Davao
that I said yes even though I haven't
really thought about it.
I mean that is DAVAO, not clark.
It's not like I can take a 2 hour bus ride home
whenever I'm homesick.

When I was a kid, I always dreamed of becoming a Sentai. I've always wanted to buy myself a Bioman suit and wear it on Halloween. Unfortunately, I haven't met anyone who makes Sentai costumes here in Manila.

I first thought that the Bioman were the original Sentai. Did you also cry when Yellow 4 died?

I just have to say this: KFC IS GROSS. I've never seen a single KFC here in Metro Manila that had excellent service and had staff who were professional and observed cleanliness from the start until the end of their day.


When I was in college, there's this KFC store which I avoided since I experienced their bad service. Aside from the fact that they cannot manage the queue of angry customers, the man at the counter had filthy uniform and gravy splattered all over his cap. He scratched every itchy part of his oily face then put his hands on my spoon and fork.

The reason why I'm writing is I had the same experience yesterday at the KFC store inside the SM Mall of Asia. The crew were too damn slow! There was one guy who spilled Pepsi while putting in a plastic bag. He lifted the plastic cup and let the spilled Pepsi fall into the ice box. Gravy was all over their shirts. They will never learn that they should NEVER touch the food and most importantly, the parts of the spoon and fork which come in contact with our mouths.

They should pay more for training their folks!

So how did I spend Valentine's day? I slept. The whole day. Even though I know I could have spoken with ***o about our pseudo-relationship and asked if we can officially be together, just before Valentine's day ends. Sadly, I overslept due to too much stress at work. So there. No V-day. No partner. At least I did get 8 hours of sleep...

Meanwhile, I spent quality time with my mom and little sister. We went to the SM Science Discovery Center. They should have called it to the SM Amusement Center, though there's also nothing too amusing in there. I think I expected a lot, something much better than the Science Centrum ( but I realized SC is more fun than SMSDC). Let's just say the price was too much for what we experienced.

It doesn't have to be a sad Valentine's day...

Once I watched a video of an actress screaming 'You Get Vaseline!' a hundred times. I didn't get the joke at first until I saw something on BryanBoy's blog. Apparently it's the craziness that is called Tyra Banks. I know Janice Dickinson has been talking smack about this girl, saying she's high and been doing drugs all her life. But hey, could it be true?

Oh well, I haven't been watching her show lately and missed the craziness. I somehow think she's evolved into a crazier (and sometimes funnier) Oprah, who I think she hopes to become someday.

From the makers of Scary Movie and The Naked Gun comes Superhero Movie. The trailer is funny. I just hope the actual movie is. I mean, I remember how disappointed I was with Date Movie and a couple of Scary Movie installments.



I haven't seen Meet the Spartans. It's sad that despite the cool concept, they had to pick on Britney and her shaved head. Sad. That part of her life wasn't funny at all. And pretending to throw her into the pit isn't gonna cut it.

Wow! Am I becoming this Chris Crocker dude? Hahahhaa! I'm not a Britney fan. I think it's just an overdose c/o Perez Hilton and the paparazzi. They better show me something else these days.

I'm not much of a dancer but I've been constantly [trying hard] dancing to the intoxicating tune of Janet Jackson's comeback single, Feedback. I know it still didn't make it to the Billboard top ten but what the heck. Watch this to know what I am talking about.



In other news, I am so relieved that Britney Spears appears to have gone back to being sane. The latest pictures still show her as a big mess (she should totally spend that $700K a month in getting someone who can dress her well like in the old days) but I was happy to read it from Mr. Paparazzi's site that she is now back in the dance studio to rehearse for her next video.


I hope this is true. Her next single is Break the Ice which is as addictive as Janet's Feedback. Listen to this:

I first saw it on McVie's blog then heard so many good things about the movie. I'm talking about the acclaimed movie The Kite Runner. I just watched it and was so touched by this movie. I think everyone should watch it. It's a great story about making up for the mistakes you did in the past and learning the importance of friendship. Sigh!

My friend Angela reminded me of her wedding this year in lovely Boracay. She already got married in Australia but for the sake of having her parents attend the ceremony (and meet the Aussie groom) they are going to have another ceremony at Friday's. Should be romantic and she has been sending me messages on Facebook, asking me to go along with Belle.

I dunno if I could really go for two reasons: Almost all SEAir flights are fully booked during those dates and I don't know what to wear to a beach wedding! She said in her wedding site that people should wear something casual. And Justin injects that Australians should at least wear jeans. (Maybe not... ahihihihi)


So I was just checking on my Multiply account when I found an entry from Ivan Henares saying he will be giving away a free round trip airfare gift certificate to Boracay! GREAT! This is what I've been waiting for! A free ticket to Angela's wedding!

Ivan, there are three things why you should give me this ticket:

1. I've never really won anything in my life! I am desperate! (Oh well, I won 20 pesos in the lottery but I don't think that counts as a 'winning'.

2. Ever since I started going to Boracay, I've never flown on any airline other than SEAir. They have the fastest flights to Boracay and that's just what I need!

3. I want to experience this beach wedding. PLEASE PLEASE! I WANT THAT TICKET!

By the way, I was a stalker for a day. I found the Multiply accounts of both Jason Abalos and Ina Feleo. Nice photos! This is were I found out that the film competed (or is competing) at the Nantes Film Festival. Hope they don't mind me sharing some photos here... they're just so cool.

I hate weddings. There's a lot of hideous gowns and overrated make-overs of nobody's surrounding you. It's kind of chaotic. That's one of the many reasons why I {initially} refused to go to my sister's wedding last year. Now, come to think of it, maybe I should have participated more. Maybe I could have helped her give more justice to Shania Twain's song when she was walking down the aisle.

So, since I missed that chance, I think I'm just gonna do it here. A few friends of mine are gonna get married soon (one in Bora this May and I am hoping I could come). Here are two of the most beautiful songs (i think) that can be used for your wedding.

Picture this: Flower girls come out when the first line is sung. Then the rest of the entourage. The bride comes out with her parents and the father gives her daughter to the groom. He congratulates him. He thanks his future father-in-law. They smile. They look at their guests and says Thank You, all while this song is being played (or sung by the perfect singer).

OA na to ha. I heard that people tried to have their tickets refunded because Cloverfield made them sick? How come this never happened with The Blair Witch Project? Or any of the Saw movies? Or perhaps a Jessica Simpson-straight-to-DVD flick? No wonder that ticket lady warned me about the movie being a documentary. (Lady, you still make me laugh.)


I finally decided to go [semi] bald again. For the nth time, I hesitated. The main reason why I wanted to chop my hair off is because: 1) People NEVER liked my new hair 2) I've never gotten a lot of phone numbers while eating at fast food restos ever while I had hair 3) My hair was just a big mess. Okay, I'm not vain or anything. When you check my pictures on Friendster, you'd understand what I'm blabbin' about here. (Right, Ria?)
